So I don't post in AGES and then I do and it's THIS? Argh.
Anyways - I check my email today upon getting home from running errands and find this in my inbox, in fact in my convetion email inbox. I know it's a new twist on a scam - but it's no less creepy. And yes - it's copies inclusive of horrid spelling and lack of proper application of capital letters.
Subject line: "be careful..."
Text as follows:
This is the only way i could reach you, I Want you be very carefull about this and keep the secreat with you till i make out space for us to see, You have no need of knowing who i am, where am from, till i make out a space for us to see, i have being paid in advance to terminate you with some reasons listed to me by my employer, its one i believe you call a friend,i have followed you closely for one week and five days now and have seen that you are innocent of the accusation,Do not contact the police or try to send a copy of this to them, because if you do i will know, and might be pushed to do what i have being paid to do,beside this the first time i turned out to be a betrayer in my job.
Now listen,i will arrange for us to see face to face but before that i need the amount of $100,000.00,i will come to your home, or you determine where you wish we meet,i repeat do not arrange for the corps,if you play hard to get,it will be extended to your family,do not set any camera to cover us or set up any tape to record our conversation,my employer is in my control now,$50, 000.00 will be paid to the account i will provide for you, after our conversation,i will give you the tape that contains his request for me to terminate you, which will be enough evidence for you to take him to court(if you wish to), then the balance will be paid, beware of business associates and friends, reply back with your phone number for easier contact as soon as possible.
Looks like a new twist on extortion/scam emails. How fun.
